12 Point Suspension
This suspension is caused by an accumulation of 12 or more points within a two year period. This suspension can be found at Ohio Revised Code Section 4510.037 through 4510.038.
Appealing a 12 Point Suspension
- If cause can be shown why driving privileges should not be suspended, an appeal may be filed in the county or municipal court in the jurisdiction in which the driver resides, agreeing to pay the cost of the proceedings. Appeal should be filed before the beginning date of the suspension.
- If the driver is under the age of 18, the appeal must be filed in the juvenile court in the jurisdiction in which the driver resides.

- You must file an SR 22 Bond stating that you have FRA (financial Responsibility) Insurance. To find out more about an SR 22 click here. http://bmv.ohio.gov/financial_responsibility/sr22-bonds.htm
- You must retake your driver license examination. Use form BMV 2836, which will be your authorization to retest.
- You must pay a $30.00 reinstatement fee.
